Medium of instruction is English. However, either English or Hindi can be used to write the examination as well as the research dissertation as long as the same medium is followed throughout the exam and/or dissertation.
M.Ed. is offered in two modes :
- Full time M.Ed. of the duration of 1 academic year for non-working candidates;
- Part-time M.Ed. of the duration of 2 academic years for working candidates.

Selections would be based on a two-phased entrance process totalling up to 100 marks. These 100 marks will be divided as follows :

- Rounding of fractions will not be allowed while computing the percentage of marks for eligibility.
- The written test may be attempted in Hindi or English.
- No travelling allowance or reimbursement will be made to any candidate at any stage.
- Any Candidate who is employed shall not be admitted to the M.Ed. (Full Time) programme unless she / he produces a valid sanction of leave from the employer.
- Every candidate applying to the M.Ed. (Part Time) programme must produce a permission / N.O.C. from his / her employer to join and pursue the programme.
- M.Ed. (Full Time)students are not permitted to take up any employment (Part Time or Full Time)
- No M.Ed. student is allowed to study for any other examination, while pursuing this programme.
